What is Augmented Reality?

Augmented Reality (AR) refers to the use of computer technology to enhance or augment a user’s perception of the real world. This is achieved by overlaying digital information, such as text, images, and 3D models, on the user’s view of the physical world. The digital information can be accessed through specialized devices, such as smartphones or smart glasses, and can be interactive, allowing the user to manipulate or interact with the virtual elements.

In a business context, AR technology has a wide range of potential uses such as in manufacturing, e-commerce, and education. For example, AR can be used in manufacturing for training, remote assistance, and quality control, in e-commerce for virtual try-on, product visualization, and in-store navigation, and in education for virtual labs, field trips, and interactive textbooks. Additionally, it can be used in marketing to enhance customer engagement and provide interactive experiences.

Augmented Reality is like adding special effects to the real world. Imagine you have special glasses, and when you look through them, it adds things to what you see. Like it can make it look like there’s a dinosaur in your room or a rocket flying in the sky. It’s like magic, but it’s not real, it’s just computer stuff that makes it look like it’s real. It’s like playing a game, but instead of being in a different world, it adds things to the world you’re already in. It’s a lot of fun and can be used for different things like playing games, exploring new places, and even learning new things.
